Plastinternational – Celebrating 25 years of Custom Injection Moulding

Plastinternational, a traditional custom plastic injection moulder that specialises in providing solutions to customer needs, celebrates its 25th anniversary this year , having been started by Gianni Ambrosi in 1986 after he sold Plastmould Injecta (Pty) Ltd, the company he had been running since 1969 (where the famous Aquanaut Pool Cleaner was developed and produced). Based in Meadowdale, Johannesburg, Plastinternational has 12 plastic injection moulding machines in its production facilities, which range in tonnage from 20t clamping force to 350t, enabling the company to offer moulding from as little as 1g shot weight, up to aprox. 990g shot weight.

Plastinternational is a member of the Plastics Federation of South Africa, the PCA - Plastic Converters Association as well as the SA/Italian chamber of commerce.

Further to the abovementioned industry memberships, we are able to offer quality guarantee's by manufacturing under formal quality systems as outlined by regulators such as the SABS (South African Bureau of Standards) and JASWIC.

Industries represented by Plastinternational’s customer base include domestic appliance, swimming pool, gardening equipment, and water metering – and include companies such as Defy, Wolf Garden Tools, and Elster Kent Metering.
Over 10 years ago, Plastinternational's research and development department designed a 1/2" BSP polypropylene ball valve / shut off valve in response to a customer's request. The plastic valve replaced the standard brass ball valve / shut off valve, resulting in significant cost savings for our customer. Today this particularly successful endeavour of Plastinternational's has developed into a full range of plastic ball valves / shut off valves,

the EzeeFlow™ Range of plastic ball valves, which are highly suited to the civils, domestic plumbing and irrigation industries.

As for the original ball valve, according to Ambrosi, close on one million of them are in use in the local market, predominantly in water metering applications, and a number are in use in the international market – and sales are still going strong.
